Red Oak Camp needs your support!
As a nonprofit organization, Red Oak Camp relies on the generous donations of our camp families and friends to continue providing top-notch programming to our campers each year.
While it may come as a surprise, revenue from camp tuition does not cover operating costs for the camp -- let alone maintenance and repairs. Instead, we count on your added support to maintain the level of excellence Red Oak Camp has achieved as a camp so far.
If you have not donated to Red Oak Camp before, we hope you will consider becoming a part of our family, which boasts a more than 75-year tradition of providing quality outdoor adventure-based experiences for our campers. If you have donated in the past, we truly appreciate your continued support. Your contributions make life-changing memories and development possible for children each year.

At Red Oak Camp, we believe that every child deserves the chance to explore the outdoors, build lifelong friendships, and grow in ways that go beyond the classroom. Thanks to generous donors and supporters, we are able to extend this opportunity to numerous families through our scholarship program.
One family’s story, which began in 2023, beautifully illustrates the profound impact camp can have—not just for one summer but for a lifetime.
“My children came alive at Red Oak Camp,” shared one grateful mother in an email, whose three children—ages 6, 10, and 13—first attended camp through scholarship in 2023. Facing significant financial challenges and living on a fixed income, she knew that the magic of camp was beyond reach without assistance. However, with help from our scholarship program, her children experienced a week that would become the highlight of their summer.
That week wasn’t just about fun—it was a transformation. Her children fully embraced the wide variety of activities Red Oak Camp offers: from horseback riding and canoeing to rock climbing and archery. They enjoyed the ropes course, explored environmental science, and participated in woodworking and field games. Each experience helped them build confidence, make new friends, and face new challenges. For them, Red Oak Camp was a respite from their daily struggles at home—a place where they could simply be kids.
“They still talk about that week. It gave them the kind of freedom and joy they don’t often get to experience,” she continued. “For a while, they were just carefree children, learning new things, playing, and laughing.”
The impact of that first week was so powerful that in 2024, Red Oak Camp was able to welcome the family back, offering multiple weeks of camp through continued scholarship support. The children returned with an even greater sense of belonging and excitement, but it was the family’s oldest child, now 14, who stood out. He thrived in Red Oak’s muli-week leadership program, demonstrating incredible growth and a natural ability to guide and mentor younger campers.
“I watched my son grow into a leader right before my eyes,” the mother shared. “The opportunities he had at camp gave him a sense of responsibility and purpose. He came home more confident and determined.”
We’re proud to say that their journey at Red Oak is far from over. The oldest is on track to join our Counselor-in-Training (CIT) program, with plans to return as a future camp leader. His story is just one example of how Red Oak Camp helps shape campers into future leaders. Thanks to the contributions from our supporters, the younger ones will have a place at camp next summer.
This family’s story represents just a glimpse of what is possible through the scholarship program. Thanks to supporters like you, children who may have never had the chance to explore nature or experience camp are now making memories that will last a lifetime.
At Red Oak Camp, we are deeply grateful to all those who help us make these experiences a reality for families in need. Together, we’re not just offering summer fun—we’re building brighter futures.
